Single Source Announcement

In accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract on a single source basis. The FAA intends to award a contract to Continental Motors, Inc., of Mobile, Al, using single source procedures to provide various Continental aircraft engines to be used for fuels testing. Engines available by third parties, or assembled with parts that are not in the original quality control system of the engine manufacturer will render the engines and data not applicable for fleet wide certification authorization. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capability and experience in providing these engines and the FAA will evaluate accordingly.
