Background: GSA Public Buildings Service (PBS) supports over 1.1 million federal workers by managing more than 9,000 federally owned or leased properties - 378 million square feet of workspace. To streamline service and construction contractor and lessor compliance with sustainable product requirements, PBS is creating a list of pre-approved sustainable products that its contractors may, at their discretion, use to meet sustainability requirements where products are used or delivered as part of their contracts. Contractors will not be required to use this list; however, certain submittal requirements will be waived or reduced where contractors have used products on the list. The list will be posted on the Green Procurement Compilation at https://sftool.gov/greenprocurement/green-products/1037/key-sustainable-products/9. To create the list, manufacturers and distributors are encouraged to submit information on frequently-used products in nine categories (“Key Sustainable Products”) that comply with PBS’s requirements. These requirements are listed in the attachment to this RFI entitled “KSP standards 052715.” How to Submit Responses: Manufacturers and distributors should respond to this RFI by downloading the attached Excel spreadsheet; listing any products that comply with the standards listed above; and emailing the completed spreadsheet to
[email protected] along with proof of compliance for each product. The following documents, in electronic form, will be accepted as proof of compliance for the purposes of this RFI: For private third-party standards (Green Seal , EcoLogo, GreenGuard Gold, and NSF-140): copy of applicable certification. For recovered content: Manufacturer certification or Environmental Product Declaration or third-party certification. For USDA BioPreferred: Certification to display the USDA Certified Biobased Product label. For California Rule 1113: Manufacturer or third-party certification of VOC content. For California Section 01350: Manufacturer certification or Environmental Product Declaration or third-party certification of VOC emissions. For Environmental Product Declaration: Copy of Environmental Product Declaration. Products for which information requested is not provided or for which inadequate proof of compliance is furnished will not be included on the pre-approved product list. Responses will be accepted until 11:59 EST on June 3, 2016. Respondents are advised to submit their responses well before this date, since the list will be reestablished annually through new RFIs. Note: Respondents are advised not to include any confidential business information in the responses as the Government does not guarantee confidentiality of the information received.
