Notice of Intent to Sole Source to Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority

The U. S. International Trade Commission (USITC or Commission), intends to make an award, on a sole source basis, to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), 600 5 th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Executive Order 13150, dated April 21, 2000, entitled Federal Workforce Transportation, mandated that all Federal agencies in the National Capital Region implement a Transportation Subsidy Program, effective October 1, 2000. The Commission would provide WMATA annual funding/reimbursement for providing qualified and eligible Commission employees a transit subsidy (Smart Benefits). Smart Benefits provide a monthly benefit allowance to employees for their mass transit commute to and from work. WMATA will provide those qualified/eligible employees of the Commission a transit subsidy which will be used by those USITC employees commuting on mass transit and/or vanpools in the National Capital Region. The period of performance is one year: October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017. This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals. A solicitation will not be available for this requirement. The intent of this announcement is for informational purposes only. However, any information received within five days after the posting date of this notice will be considered by the Government.
