V--SOLE SOURCE: SPECIAL NOTICE: Sensitive and Classified Tape Retrieval and Storage.

The U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command -Fort Lee, VA (MICC-ICO Lee intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(c)) with Iron Mountain , 1821 Michael Faraday Drive, Suite 100, Reston, VA 20190. The contractor shall provide sensitive and classified tape retrieval and storage for ALTESs, Radford Army Ammunition Plant, Radford, VA. Iron Mountain is not the sole supplier of this service, however; this is a follow-on contract, removing and transporting existing stored tapes will create unnecessary security risk and be an excessive cost to the government that could not be recovered with a competitive acquisition. Market research has indicated there are no other contractors in the general vicinity that are capable and equipped to exercise this contract and to provide emergency retrieval in the mission critical required time. Iron Mountain offers trained and cleared technicians and response time required to address emergency retrieval or pick-up in a timely manner. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 493190 and the size standard is $25,500,000.
