The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C.253 (c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The described services is for an Rental/Lease of Medical Equipment where existing equipment currently in use at the Central Texas Veterans Medical Center and only Radiometer America Inc. can fulfill this requirement. No other company is expected to respond to the requirement Radiometer America Inc. is the sole proprietary manufacturer and does not use distributors or sub-license any portion of the product. Period of Performance shall be from the date of award until equipment is purchased and installed. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.
