Calibration of curvic gages

The Cherry Point Satellite Contract Officer, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source requirements contract to Value Tool & Engineering, Inc., 2629 Foundation Drive, South Bend, IN 46628-4332, (Cage Code: 1DBF7). Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required service. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East Support Team, MCAS Cherry Point, NC intends to procure a one year contract with the option for four addition years for the estimated quantity of 23 each per year on the calibration of curvic gages. Honeywell has the proprietary rights and is the only company with the Grand Master Curvic Gage which is required to calibrate the curvic gages. Honeywell requires the government to go through Value Tool & Engineering, Inc. for this contract. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
