Q--Viral Testing, Influenza Confirmation Screening, and DNA Testing for unkown Isolates.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Activity-8, in support of James A. Haley Veterans Hospital intends to negotiate a noncompetitive award with Viracor LLC to provide viral testing, confirmation of influenza screening, and DNA testing for unknown isolates. This procurement is a sole source award. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Solicitation VA-673-11-RQ-0044 will be awarded on or about December 1, 2011. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with all terms, conditions, provisions, and specifications of this solicitation. The NAICS code is 541711, Testing Laboratories, business size is $12.0M. Scope of Work: The purpose of this contract is to provide viral testing, confirmation of influenza screening, and DNA testing for unknown isolates services for the James A. Haley VA Hospital (JAHVH), Tampa, FL. Contractor shall provide reference laboratory testing services to include: specimen requirements, pick up and transport of specimens from VA laboratories to contractor's laboratory; processing and analysis of the specimen. Consultation regarding selection, collection, transportation and result interpretation shall also be provided when required. The contract performance period consists of: One year base period, and three optional one year periods. (December 1, 2011 - November 30, 2014).
