In accordance with FAR 13.5, the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) intends to negotiate and award a sole source commercial contract with InterMedia Survey Institute, 1401 New York Avenue, Washington, D.C. 20005. The NAICS number is 541910 with a size standard of $6.5 million. The period of performance is 15 August 2008 to 14 August 2009. The award is in accordance with Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The requirement is for in-depth social science-based research and analysis designed to understand how populations gather, use, share, and shape news and information (where/when). No other organization is known to have this data and the corresponding capability to correctly interpret and apply this data to real world situations. InterMedia functions in and has proprietary data for 78% of the priority and high priority countries of interest to USSOCOM. This need includes operational assessment for transistional and developing societies as well. This is not a request for proposals.
