Synopsis of proposed increase of the Hanford Mission Essential Services Contract

The Office of Environmental Management’s Richland Operations Office, located at 2440 Stevens Center Place Richland WA, 99354, intends to issue a single source modification to increase the Hanford Mission Essential Services Contract (HMESC) contract line item number (CLIN) 0004/1004/2004, for Infrastructure and Site Services in March of 2024, with Hanford Mission Integration Solutions, LLC, a large business at the Hanford Site. The proposed contract ceiling increase of $1.3B will allow Hanford site infrastructure services, which support the cleanup operations being conducted by the other Hanford site contractors, to continue uninterrupted. The increase will result in additional opportunities for small business subcontracting. If the contract CLIN 4 ceiling increase does not occur, the HMESC CLIN 4 ceiling is insufficient to enable the contractor to continue full operations for the base period of performance or full performance under the optional periods, if exercised, and could require the Department of Energy to suspend major mission support under the HMESC contract work activities until a new or substantially modified contract is put in place. This will severely impact the Department of Energy’s ability to support the other Hanford contractors to meet the mission requirements of the Tri-Party Agreement. This synopsis is issued as required per FAR Part 5.2 on the proposed contract action and will be posted until Monday January 15, 2023.
