Management and Operation of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve

Notice of intent to extend the DM Petroleum Operations Company contract, DE-AC96-03PO92207, for the Management and Operation of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) for up to 6-months under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 52.217-8. The incumbent's contract period of performance ends March 31, 2013. A competitive acquisition is currently being conducted for the follow-on management and operating contract for the SPR. It is currently contemplated that an award and transition period cannot be accomplished by March 31, 2013; therefore, the existing contract is being extended to complete the on-going competition.
