Notice of Intent to Award Sole-Source Modification to Extend Contract Period for Two (2) Months

Notice of Intent to Award a Sole-Source Modification to Extend Contract Period of Performance for Two (2) Months: This synopsis provides notification of the 50th Contracting Squadron's intent to award a sole-source modification to extend contract FA2550-02-C-0004, Civil Engineering Operations and Maintenance Services. The current contract end date is 30 April 2013. An extension option from 01 May 2013 through 31 July 2013 will be exercised; however, an additional 2 months are needed to finalize the hiring of Government employees under RMD 802, and conduct phase-out and phase-in operations. Therefore, a 2-month contract extension from 01 August 2013 through 30 September 2013 is planned. The extension will be performed by the incumbent contractor, Aleut Global Solutions, L.L.C.; 5540 Tech Center Drive, Suite 100; Colorado Springs, CO 80919. This contract provides for civil engineer operations and maintenance services for the operations facilities and associated systems infrastructure at Schriever AFB. The 2-month extension will be performed under the same terms and conditions as the existing contract. The contract type is firm-fixed-price. This extension of services to extend the contract period of performance for 2 months will be accomplished pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements" as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Not awarding this extension would cause serious injury to the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of the work required during the 2-month extension period would be advantageous to the Government. A determination not to compete this contract extension period is solely within the discretion of the Government.
