M--Operation, Maintenance, and Repair of the Fort Rucker Gunnery Range Complex for an Interim Three-Month Period

It is the Government's intent to negotiate on a sole-source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, for Operation, Maintenance, and Repair of the Fort Rucker Gunnery Range Complex, Fort Rucker, Alabama, with the incumbent contractor, Honeywell Technology Solutions, Incorporated for an interim three-month period 1 October through 30 September 2009, via contract modification to the existing contract DABK31-03-C-0001, in order to prevent a lapse in service. This extension has become necessary because of unanticipated delays in the pre-award process for the new competitive acquisition, which is currently issued competitively as W9124G-09-R-0002 and is extended indefinitely pending amendment and subsequent receipt of proposals. The contractor shall provide services to operate, maintain, and repair the Fort Rucker Gunnery Range Complex on a cost-plus-award-fee basis. This interim three-month period is anticipated to provide sufficient time to complete the competitive acquisition already underway. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers from interested parties.
