Z -- Extension of Contract F04684-98-C-0014, Launch Operationa and Support Contract (LO&SC)

The 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California intends to extend the Launch Operations and Support Contract (LO&SC) #F04684-98-C-0014 with MCA Engineers Inc, for a period 49-days, commencing 13 Aug 04 and ending 30 Sep 04. By extending the LO&SC, launch critical services will be uninterrupted while the new 6 year LOSC is being competed. The current LO&SC provides management, maintenance, repair, upgrade, demolition, engineering and on-site support for the Western Range launch, operation, and test facilities, infrastructure and equipment. Interested firms must have the ability to provide required expertise for launch critical services and the workforce to provide required services and on-site support upon award. All hiring and training of personnel, learning of mission critical systems, and required security clearances must be accomplished without interruption of the Western Range and launch schedules. Phase-in will not be included due to the criticality of services to be provided and the impact that would result from interruption of these services. The incumbent contractor will not provide transition training since this would cause the government a substantial duplication of cost.
