--Services of special needs students assisting the Army with Contract Close-Out

The US Army RDECOM CC, NCD plans to award a purchase order on a sole basis to Work, Inc. 3 Arlington ST, N. Quincy, MA 02171 for special needs students of the Mendon-Upton (MA) school system to assist the Army in contract close-out. Work Inc has worked with a large number of local school systems and their special needs department to provide work opportunities for their special needs students, by sending work projects to the schools to be performed by the students in class. As such, they have significant previous relevent experience in modeling and adapting work to the capabilities of young people with severe disabilities. WORK Inc. has provided services to the Federal Government under the AbilityOne program which means they have the expertise needed to perform services under the requirements of the Service Contract Act. Additionally, Work Inc. has: the capability to train the students and the job coaches, and to establish quality systems to assure accuracy and on time deliverables; has the skill sets in house to evaluate and recommend improvements to the program; and is geographically based to provide support and training to nurture the program.
