NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 9 (NCO 9) intends to award a sole source contract award to ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, Inc., 100 W Lawrence St., 2nd Floor, Appleton, WI 54911. This requirement is to provide education to Service Chiefs and Managers on Lean principles in order to lead staff into a continuous improvement environment. To ensure processes are streamlined and maximize efficiencies, skilled leadership involvement is required to effectively promote and monitor improvements in our facility. Improvement initiatives are monitored by System Redesign Program to ensure they follow VHA directives and mandates. The contractor shall provide training on-site to Service Chiefs and Managers to develop a common understanding of lean concepts, their role as leaders in a lean organization, and recognize key system requirements in a lean environment. This will allow them to understand value, waste, and recognize tools to identify and remove waste from processes. The training is for two (2) 1-day trainings. The contractor shall provide one onsite workshop on ThedaCare Lean Principles (by Healthcare Organization) for Lexington VA Medical Center's staff. The Cooper Auditorium has been reserved for August, 2014. Class capacity is 25 attendees at the Lexington VA Medical Center, 1101 Veterans Drive, Lexington, KY 40502. ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, Inc. is the only authorized vendor capable of providing the requested service. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by July 17th, 2014, 12:00 p.m. (ET). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to [email protected].
