Q -- Basic Healthcare for Native Americans

The Kayenta Health Center, Indian Health Services, intends to award a commercial, sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Utah Navajo Health System, Inc., East Highway 262, Montezuma Creek, UT 84534. The contractor shall provide basic health care for Native Americans who reside in the towns/communities of Oljato, Monument Valley, Mexican Hat, and Gouldings, Utah plus Monument Valley and Gouldings, AZ. Health care services under this contract include basic outpatient services such as routine diagnostic and ancillary (lab & X-ray), preventive and acute care, prenatal, post-natal, routine gynecological, pediatrics, family practice, internal medicine, dental and behavioral health. Also included in this contract is all necessary personnel, supplies, drugs, equipment, facilities, malpractice coverage, skills, and expertise necessary for or incident to the referral of all medically necessary inpatient services, in accordance with Federal, State and industry standards. The performance period is: 1-Apr-07 thru 30-Sep-07. The estimated contract award amount is $300,000.00 firm-fixed price. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification within 5 days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
