Page 2 of 2 Page 1 of 3 Department of Veteran Affairs Intent to Sole Source External Clinical Consultant Services for the Aurora Vet Center The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), 115 South 84th Street, Suite 101, Milwaukee, WI 53214, on behalf of the Aurora Vet Center, 750 Shoreline Drive, Suite 160, Aurora, IL 60504-6184, in DuPage County, intends to award a sole source contract to The Family Institute for External Clinical Consultant Services. The period of performance is from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2026. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to veterans and their families (as qualified) in a non-clinical setting. Such counseling is provided by qualified counselors in individual, group and family counseling settings. Efforts are directed at social, psychological or behavioral difficulties specifically related to the post war readjustment to civilian life. Such difficulties may interfere with a Veteran s job performance, educational pursuits, family and other interpersonal relations, or overall ability to cope with daily life. In accordance with VHA Directive 1500, Vet Centers are required to secure four hours as a monthly minimum of External Clinical Consultation Services for the Vet Center staff. Those services will be obtained through The Family Institute which is the incumbent contractor that has providers with LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) licenses.
