R--Accession and Curation of Archaeological Collection - Intent to Sole Source

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO THE University of Alaska Museum, Archaeological Repository, Fairbanks Campus PO BOX 756960, Fairbanks, AK 99775, for the curation and storage of archaeological and paleontological material collected or excavated on land administered by the US Army Garrison Fort Wainwright (USAG FWA), Alaska UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 13.106-1(b. The USAG FWA intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to the university of Alaska Museum to curate archaeological materials in a facility that meets the requirements of 36 CFR 79. The University of Alaska - Fairbanks meets the federal requirements for long-term curation of archaeological collections. The number of facilities that meet 36 CFR 79 in Alaska are limited; several are not accepting new collections at this time. It is the USAG FWA's position that this collection should be maintained by a university that specializes in repository or Arctic and Alpine Research collections. Total estimated value of the purchase order, for a base year plus four option years is $97,500. This Notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotations. No Solicitation document exists. No Contract award will be made on the basis of any expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations received in response to this notice.
