NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 5, located at 849 International Drive, Linthicum, MD 21090 is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Award under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), specifically FAR Subpart 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. The intended Contractor is Versant Medical Physics and Radiation Safety, LLC, 116 S. Riverview Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49004 The Contractor shall provide all labor, personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to provide medical physics services for the purpose of data collection and commissioning of a new linear accelerator. All work must be performed or managed by a board-certified medical physicist. The Contractor shall provide all necessary credential documents if requested by the VA. All data collection is required to be reviewed and verified for accuracy. Commissioning is to be performed as per the instructions of the vendor and the Eclipse Physics Reference Guide. The Contractor shall provide the VA with reports including data collected and detailing all measurement and results regarding the commissioning. This procurement is being conducted using commercial item procedures pursuant to FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, specifically FAR Subpart13.106-1(b)(1)(i) allowing the Contracting Officer (CO) to solicit from one source. This will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) award and an anticipated award date is set for 08/01/2019. The place of performance is at the Washington, DC VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20422. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is, 813920 Biological (except Diagnostic) Manufacturing. Product of Service Code for this requirement is, AN11 R&D Medical: Biomedical (Basic Research). The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for this sector is 1,250 employees. This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
