U -- Certified Hearing Impaired Teacher for Staff Support to the Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) located at West Point, NY

This is a Sources Sought Notice for Market Research only by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) for the DDESS West Point Schools (WPS) located on the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. As a civilian agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, DoDEA operates 224 public schools in 21 districts located in 14 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico with approximately 8,800 teachers serving 106,000 students. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify qualified sources that can provide part time staff support services to the Special Education Program at WPS as a certified Hearing Impaired Teacher. DoDEA seeks local area certified Hearing Impaired (HI) teacher with experience with linkage of goal development and services to educational needs rather than medical needs and the development and implementation of student Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Qualified sources shall be capable of: a) providing direct HI services in accordance with the student's IEP goals; b). performing consultative services to staff at WPS, parents, and students in accordance with IEP goals; c) developing revised IEPs for students found eligible for services; d) completing educational assessments per the request of the Case Study Committee (CSC); and e) working a flexible schedule of 3-hours per week of direct on-site consultation services and 3 hours per month indirect off-site consultation services during the current school year regular spring and summer sessions.
