Intent to award a Sole Source Contract to Boston Dynamics for the purchase of DI GUY software.

The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) intends to procure, by using other than full and open competition, additional enhancements of the Dismounted Infantry Guy (DI Guy) human simulation system. The Government will procure an upgraded/ enhanced DI Guy Application that will simulate human interaction with Marines in a tactical combat environment that will federate with other simulation applications. This simulation capability will allow Battalion Staffs, Company Staffs, Platoon Leaders, Squad leaders, Team leaders, and team members to practice the appropriate cognitive skills in this simulated tactical environment. DI Guy federated with VBS2 as part of the Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE) program will fulfill part of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) requirements as specified in the DVTE Operational Requirements Document signed by the Marine Corps Requirements Oversight Council (MROC) on 25 May 2004.
