The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source contract to Atlantic Emergency Solutions. This procurement will be for the replacement of a water pump and transmission assembly for a Pierce Manufacturing fire truck. Seymour Johnson AFB has previously received a quote from Atlantic Emergency Solutions for these services. The government has been informed that Atlantic Emergency Solutions is the only Pierce Manufacturing authorized fire truck repair facility within the state of North Carolina. Due to this unique capability, the government intends to pursue a sole source award to Atlantic Emergency Solutions. Additionally, the assembly has been disassembled during diagnosis and the cost of reassembling the truck to seek competitive offerors is not expected to be recovered through the use of full and open competition. APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY : This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government.
