T--Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Contract for Civilian Enterprise (CE) Newspaper

The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) - Fort Polk, LA: This is a sole source synopsis published for informational purposes only. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This proposed procurement will be a sole source under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 511110 - Newspaper Publishers and the Size Standard is 500 employees. This proposed action is to issue a short term award for a no-cost contract to print and distribute a weekly circulation of approximately 14,000 copies of a Civilian Enterprise (CE) newspaper for the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) and Fort Polk, entitled the quote mark GUARDIAN quote mark . The awarded contract will have a period of performance from 20 February 2014 to 30 August 2014 (approximately six (6) months). This short term contract is being awarded pending issuance of a separate formal solicitation for a longer duration contract that will be issued under the auspices of Department of Defense Instruction 5120.4, DoD Newspaper and Civilian Enterprise Publications.
