The Department of State, Office of Acquisition Management on behalf of Bureau of Information Resource Management, Enterprise Server Operations Center (IRM/SIO/ESOC) issues this special notice of its intent of a sole source purchase order with Chicago Soft LTD for the Compensation Support Processing System annual software maintenance renewal. Period of performance 1/19/2021- 1/18/2022. The requested services would provide software support, software patches and revisions, and licensing of Chicago Soft, LTD MVS/QuickRef Software proprietary products: Chicago Soft, LTD MVS/QuickRef is a product the Department requires ensuring the z/OS maintains the proper tools to securely manage its applications. Chicago Soft, LTD MVS/QuickRef is a licensed and proprietary product offering online quick reference tools for ISPF and CA-ROSCOE users under IBM z/OS applications and is a required product to securely manage the ISPF Software application in this environment. MVS/QuickRef contains a CUT and PASTE feature, a QPRINT command to print selected items to SYSOUT or a DASD file, a TEXTMARK feature to mark your place in an item or item list and return directly to it later, DASD free space lookup and reporting, a complete user data base feature you can use to store your own reference information, a SEARCH command used as an aid in locating specific words, a direct program interface, built-in security features, and support for batch execution. This software renewal will provide the necessary system coverage to ensure that the mission critical Compensation Support Processing System maintains little or no down time. Without renewal, there is no guarantee that the IBM Z Series Compensation Support Processing System would provide accurate payroll processing and could directly affect the Department’s Employees. Chicago Soft is a proven vendor for their products and meets the requirements of the Department of State. Renewal of Chicago Soft, LTD MVS/QuickRef Software support is instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the proprietary IBM Z Series Compensation Support Processing System. Chicago Soft owns the source code for the proprietary products and their maintenance is unavailable through any reseller. Therefore, all maintenance including software support, patches, and revisions for these products and licenses must be obtained through the sole source owner.
