In support of small business objectives and to meet urgent mission requirements, this acquisition was awarded on a sole-source basis to the incumbent 8(a) Alaskan Native company, Akima Global Logistics, L.L.C., in accordance with FAR 6.302-5(b)(4). The award supports the Equipment Redistribution Divestiture Site (ERDS), a mission-critical requirement classified as a “no-fail” capability essential to operational readiness. The urgency and complexity of the ERDS requirement, combined with the contractor’s proven performance history, justified the sole-source approach under the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program.
