DESCRIPTION: The VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Toshiba America Medical System, Inc, 2150F Northmont Parkway, Duluth, GA, 30136 under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 due to only having one responsible source that can provide required services for the Toshiba Acquilion CT Scanner that will meet the requirements of the VA Medical Centers located in Omaha, Nebraska. AUTHORITY: This is notice of intent to award a sole source under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-2, Due to Only One Responsible Source that Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Note - No award will be issued from responses to this notice. Response to this notice does not legally bind the Government in any manner. Your concerns will be considered if you respond to this posting with a similar product/service. JUSTIFICATION: The justification for this sole source request is based on the Nebraska Western Iowa HCS maintaining their Toshiba Acquilion CT Scanner in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. This service is essential to ensuring this vital equipment is maintained and serviced properly. No other sources for the required services can be found. DETERMINATION: A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
