Notice of intent to award a sole source contract Conservation Camp Crews for the purpose of litter pickup and preparation of designated locations for Lake Mead NRA conservation education programs.

The National Park Service, Lake Mead National Recreation Area intends to award a sole source contract to The Nevada Division of Forestry, 2478 Fairview Drive, Carson City, NV 89701 for the purpose of litter pickup and preparation of designated locations for Lake Mead NRA conservation educations programs. NDF administers, coordinates and manages all forestry, nursery endangered plant species and watershed resource activities on certain public and private lands. One of the programs that are administered by this Division is the Conservation Camp Program which was established in 1959. This program coordinates and supervises forestry, conservation and other work projects performed by inmates from the Department of Corrections who reside in Forestry Conservation Camps. The program provides for inmate training in natural resource project assignments. The program supervises seventy-seven 12-person inmate crews in ten conservation camps. The goal of the program is to reduce the recidivism rate of prison inmates and to provide work projects for inmates to practice and develop work habits and skills.
