He is essentially the only individual that has worked with the species and the author of the only two reports relating to the species ( Mancuso 1999 and DRAFT Mancuso 2009). He initiated development of the monitoring protocol in 2008, in addition to surveying sites for presence/absence. Completing the establishment of the monitoring program is one of the tasks identified for 2009. Since Michael did the initial survey work and mapped suitable habitat from aerial photos in 1999 and established most of the monitoring program in 2008, he is most qualified to perform subsequent surveys and complete the monitoring program for the species.
