10181AM394 This is a notice of intent to go Sol Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 for the following service: High resolution elevation and substrate mapping to support ecological forecasting and vulnerability assessments of the Nisqually Delta, Wa. Vendor:Watershed Sciences, Inc.257B SW Madison Ave.Corvallis, OR 97333 The purpose of this service is to acquire LiDAR elevation data (8 pulse/m2) at low tide (less than 0 feet) for the Nisqually Estuary. This work is part of a large-scale scientific study in Puget Sound by the U.S. Geological Survey and their partners. Nisqually Estuary is a priority location for obtaining data this year because of the recent completion of a restoration project. Watershed Sciences, Inc. has already completed collecting the Puget Sound LiDAR data in the Lummi, Nooksack, and Snohomish river deltas, the San Juan Islands, and in Hood Canal. Contracting with Watershed Sciences for the Nisqually Estuary LiDAR data is essential to allow comparison with the other data as part of the overall scientific study. Changing vendors with different equipment, software, and methodologies would not provide the consistency needed for the scientific study.
