Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Region 3, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to award a fixed-priced contract in accordance with FAR 13.-106-1(2)(b), to Axys Analytical Services, LTD, in support of water sampling services conducted by the Columbus Ohio Ecological Services Field Office. The firm manufactured the Infiltrex Trace Organic Sampling system being used and will furnish the required parts for this system to include filters and columns, and conduct the necessary calibration and maintenance. The Infiltrex system will not be purchased, however, borrowed from another agency and will be used by the Ecological Services Field Office to conduct high volume water samplings for Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB)s and Organochlorine (OC) pesticides. Axys Analytical Services is the only know source for this requirement to provide the goods and services due to the specialized knowledge and technical experience of the Infiltrex system and data analysis. This project is a follow-up to a previous study. The analytical services provided will ensure consistency of comparison results. This Notice of Intent is not a Request for Proposal.
