THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. Big Bend National Park announes its intent to purchase the following brand name products from Geiger Pump and Equipment : Chisos Basin Public Water System Filtration Equipment-Duplex Filter Model FP117-D-4-CS, Triplex Filtration System Model FP117-S-2-CS, Filtration Equipment-Pre Filter Cartridge and 1 Micron Filter. This is the only approved filtration system for the State of Texas. Justification for procurement of Brand Name Product is available upon request at [email protected]. Authorities allowing brand name product procurement are: (a) 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1): Only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. (b) FAR Part 11.105: The Brand Name products are essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates other companies' similar products do not meet and cannot be modified to meet the agency's needs. (c) FAR 6.302-1: The use of the name brand products are essential to the Government's requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company.
