NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - Zion National Park, Kolob Terrace, herein announces its intentions to award a sole source contract using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302-2(a)(2) to Interstate Rock. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Only one contract will be awarded. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be awarded under $25,000.00. Reasons for citing authority: Zion National Park, requires pick up of asphalt in the proximity of Zion National park in order to deliver it to Kolob Terrace Road for maintenance crew to perform road repair. It is extremely urgent that the material be picked up at a given temperature degree from a reliable company in close proximity to the Park to enable the Roads and Trails Crew to lay the asphalt before it changes composition and temperature. By acquiring the product from Interstate Rock out of Hurricane, the crew can pick up the product, delivery it to Kolob Terrace, and lay the asphalt in a timely manner to meet the asphalt limitiation requirements. Interested parties may identify their capability to respond to this requirement for possible future solicitations. The determination not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. This notice may represent the only official notice.
