Request for Information for Passive Body Scanner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Components are seeking information from interested vendors that can provide commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) Passive Body Scanners. COTS products by definition are used by the general public or non-governmental agencies for purposes other than governmental purposes and have been sold, leased, or licensed to the general public (Federal Acquisition Regulations Section 2.101). THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT. It is for informational purposes only. A solicitation is NOT being issued. This Request for Information (RFI) will allow the Government to identify interested sources and their capabilities in meeting all requirements. The information sought will be used for planning purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The Government will not award a contract on the basis of this RFI, nor will the Government pay for any information submitted by respondents. All proprietary or sensitive corporate information shall be clearly marked. This announcement in no way obligates or commits the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of information submitted in response to this RFI. The Government seeks information from industry and requests the industry provides comments to questions listed in the Excel Spreadsheet. This information will inform the Government’s intended acquisition strategy, the timing of any future Request for Proposals (RFP), and the system integration requirements. Each of the vendors’ proposed systems must meet the minimum requirements set by the draft SOW. THIS IS ONLY A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) to identify sources that can provide the solutions described in the draft SOW. U.S. DHS CBP has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
