Intent to Issue a Sole Source For Car Lease

The U.S. Secret Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Ford Motor Company for a lease for protectee vehicle. The reason justifying the lack of competition is this lease is being issue on a sole source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on and the vehicle is still in use for the protectee. USSS intends to negotiate a contract for Base Year plus Two-One Year Options. This notice is neither a request for proposal nor a solicitation of offers. The determination of the Government not to open this requirement to full and open competition was made in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and is solely at the discretion of the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 336111, Automobile Manufacturing. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for this requirement; and is issued for notification purposes only. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy USSS’s requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it is capable of meeting the USSS’s requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill this requirement being requested by 2:00 PM ET Aug 27, 2021. Responses must be submitted in writing to [email protected] no later than the time stated. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No formal solicitation package is available. Reasonable questions, not excessive in length, will be answered if submitted to the point of contact at the above email address.
