R -- Legal Services for Federal Inmates at USP Leavenworth and FPC Leavenworth KS

The US Penitentiary, Leavenworth KS, intends to award a contract to the University of Kansas School of Law, the Paul E. Wilson Defender Project, for the provision of legal services to the federal inmates incarcerated at the penitentiary and the camp at the facility. The services will be provided by law students enrolled at the KU School of Law. The types of cases generally handled are: (1) Challenges to the Fact or Duration of Present Confinement, (2) Detainers, (3) Civil Matters, and (4) Issues of Confinement (advice only). The contral will cover the period of date of award thru September 30, 2003. Any school of law with the ability to provide the presence of law students at the USP and/or the FPC Leavenworth on no fewer than two (2) days per week, for approximately four (4) hours per day, for cases such as those listed, is requested to submit a technical proposal and pricing proposal for the services.
