Description
The purpose of this contract is to remove and dispose of existing pressure treated boardwalk trail as well as construction of new trail. Construction of 1080 meters of trail includes clearing and grubbing, ditch excavation, placement of borrow excavation, silt fence, type I and II turnpike trail, placement of geosynthetics, compacted crushed aggregate surfacing, culvert installations, a 6.1 m temporary timber bridge, treated log steps, and pressure treated log retaining wall. The project is located approximately 29 Kilometers north of the city limits of Ketchikan, Alaska. The trailhead is just off the end of the North Tongass Highway. The project can be reached by vehicle via paved highway (15 miles) and 2 lane chip-sealed road (3 miles). The estimated price range for this acquisition is between $100,000 and $250,000. The performance period is 220 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about January 20, 2004 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to download the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests should reference solicitation R10-05-04-05. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date.
