The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services (WS), Mississippi State, MS, intends to issue a sole source purchase order with Oktibbeha County Co-Op for corral traps for feral swine. Corral traps are the most effective style trap for capturing feral swine. A typical trap has 5 - 16 foot long welded wire panels wired to metal fence posts to construct a trap, but this does not allow for quick construction, deconstruction, or portability while trapping. Modified corral panels, with welded wire to make lightweight portable panels, are quickly constructed and deconstructed into corral traps. The components of corral panels can be purchased from agricultural equipment suppliers and modified to create corral trap panels, however the modification process is time consuming and very costly. The requirement is for a durable, portable, lighter, and easier to set up and take down, and cost-effective corral trap panel. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
