3M RFID Library Detection / File Tracking Equipment Maintenance and Software Support

Description: Notice of intent to award a sole source procurement under FAR Part 12.203 to 3M Library Systems to provide equipment service and software maintenance support on the 3M Library detection/file tracking equipment (RFID tracking software 5420 SQL, RFID tracking pads model 770, and RFID Handheld trackers model 803). Contractor is to provide all required equipment maintenance and software support for one (1) year. The period of performance is 01 Oct 2010 through 30 Sep 2011. In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, the Government will negotiate directly with 3M Library Systems. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. A determination not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. This notice is for information only. It is neither a request for proposals nor a solicitation for offers.
