Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Indian Health Service (IHS) Small Ambulatory Program (SAP)

The 2022 SAP budget includes $24 million. Authorization for the SAP is provided in Title 25 U.S.C., section 1636. Under the SAP, American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes or Tribal Organizations that are operating an Indian health care facility pursuant to a health care services contract or compact entered into under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, Public Law (P.L.) 93-638, may competitively obtain funding for the construction, expansion, or modernization of small ambulatory health care facilities. If your Tribe or Tribal Organization is interested in participating in the 2022 SAP, please download and complete the application available online at https://www.ihs.gov/dfpc/. Detailed proposal instructions are provided in the application package that will outline the requirements for project planning and Tribal administrative and financial capabilities.
