Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE Marine Corps Installations West Regional Contracting Office (MCIWEST RCO) intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis on or about 5 Jan 2015 to Pitney Bowes, Inc. Per reference FAR 13.501(a)(1), the contracting officer has determined that only one source is reasonably available. The prospective contractor shall provide a one year service plan for Pitney Bowes mailing machines. The Government owns the Pitney Bowes postage machine and the Pitney Bowes mailing/envelope printer machine. Both of which do not need to be replaced at this time. The Government Currently leases the Pitney Bowes meter head attachment from Pitney Bowes. The Pitney Bowes meter head is proprietary to Pitney Bowes. Pitney Bowes is the only authorized service provider of their machines. Therefore, they are the only available source for the requirement. At this time, Pitney Bowes is the only identified source capable of providing the full requirement by 05 Jan 2015 when the contractor will be required to begin performance. A Sole Source Justification Letter is attached regarding this determination. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 811212 with the size standard of $27.5M. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit technical capabilities, which, if received within ten calendar days of publication of this notice, shall be considered by MCI-WEST RCO for future requirements as this is a reoccurring requirement.
