31--Refurbish Generator Thrust Bearings at Center Hill Lake, Center Hill Power Plant.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation for small business utilizing NAICS code 331525, 500 employees as the small business size standard. Solicitation documents and incorp orated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular. Provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items, and provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Offerors shall include with their offer a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items. Clauses 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, are applicable to this acqusition. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, plant, and equipment to place in first class condition twelve (12) generator thrust bearing shoes in strict accordance with the requirements of these specifications. The Contractor shall pick up the shoe s at Center Hill Power plant and deliver back to Center Hill Power plant upon completion of work. The generator thrust bearing shoes shall be delivered to the Center Hill Lake Power House compound, ATTN: David Mackie, 270 Lancaster Road, Lancaster, TN 385 69, phone number 931-858-3618. The babbitt shall be in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard B23-94 Alloy No. 2. The Contractor shall submit babbitt certification as required in ASTM B23 Section 11. The Contractor sha ll ultrasonic test 100% of the babbitt area of each shoe to ensure sound bond to the base material. Testing shall be by the pulse-echo method. The Contractor shall provide written record showing results of the testing as required by this procedure. The re port of the final UT examination shall contain the manufacturers identification number, authorized signature, date, inspection procedure, test frequency, instrument, type and size of transducer employed, all areas of un-bond and the location of repaired a reas.
