Notice of Intent to Sole Source

This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures for urgent sole sourced requirement for thread plastic liner for supplementary charge required for production with only one manufacturer currently that has passed first article inspection and can meet current delivery schedule, as future procurement is currently pending at Rock Island, for use at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Engineered Plastic Inc is currently the only authorized manufacturer to meet required item specifications and compliance restrictions. Any purchase order will be awarded under 'other than full and open competition' as authorized by FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements for this item.
