76--Notice of Intent to Award A Sole Source Purchase Order for Knovel Databases & Journal Subscriptions

This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source purchase order, and is not a request for competitive proposals. The proposed purchase order is for access through an online portal subscription for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), authorized by FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The Mission Installation Contracting Command at West Point on behalf of the United States Military Academy intends to award sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Knovel Corporation for a base and three (3) option years to provide access to the following subject areas and premium content through the Knovel Database & Journals online portal subscription: Subject Areas - Adhesives, Sealants, Coatings & Inks Aerospace & Radar Technology Biochemistry, Biology & Biotechnology Ceramics & Ceramic Engineering Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering & Construction Materials Earth Science Electrical & Power Engineering Electronics & Semiconductors Environment & Environmental Engineering Food Science General Engineering & Project Administration Industrial Engineering & Operations Mgmt Mechanics & Mechanical Engineering Metals & Metallurgy Oil & Gas Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics & Toiletries Plastics & Rubbers Safety & Industrial Hygiene Sustainable Energy & Development Textiles Transportation Engineering Premium Content - AICHE/Center for Chemical Process Safety - CCPS Design Institute for Physical Properties - DIPPR Project 801 Patty's Toxicology (December 2013 through March 2014) Sax's Dangerous Properties of Industrial Material (December 2013 through March 2014) This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
