A -- Presolicitation notice for the Advanced Manufacturing Propulsion Intiative (AMPI) for Engine OEMs

NOTICE OF CONTRACT ACTION FOR : The Manufacturing Technology Division of the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/MLM) is contemplating issuing a solicitation, on a sole source basis for the Advanced Manufacturing Propulsion Initiative (AMPI) Program. This program is seeking to improve existing and establish new manufacturing technologies and US industrial base capabilities needed to support the development, production and sustainment of advanced fighter aircraft turbine engines in the 25,000 pound and above thrust class. The F135 and F136 engines are the initial targets for implementation. This effort will be directed through a “sole source” contract to each producer of large military turbine engines, General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls Royce. The fighter engine OEM’s will, as part of their contracted effort, provide requirements and support services for technology transition to suppliers. See note 22.
