The government intends to acquire development (non-recurring engineering) and production-level hardware for an Improved Mono-Head Up Display (HUD). The improved Mono-HUD will be an upgrade and replacement for the existing system installed on Special Operations MH-60 helicopters. The Mono-HUD provides weapon aiming cues for the flight crew. It has parts obsolescence issues that limit repair. The procurement of this system is being conducted on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The intended source is BAE Systems North America, 6500 Tracor Lane, Austin, TX 78725-2070. BAE Systems is the only known source for this display. A firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for non-recurring engineering, a study, associated data, limited qualification testing, and purchase of a minimum of two test Mono-HUDs; the maximum is 40 Improved Mono-HUDs.
