The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Directorate of Procurement, is performing market research to identify potential sources of supply for a supplemental/replacement Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) suspension system for modified Special Operations Forces (SOF) HMMWV’s. Proposed systems are intended to replace stock suspension components to accommodate the wider range of gross vehicle weight requirements of USSOCOM modified HMMWV’s. Proposed systems should be capable of operating effectively at a wide range of gross vehicle ranges, which will vary from 7500 Lbs to 13,500 Lbs (threshold), 7500 Lbs to 15,000 Lbs (objective). Proposed system should be “bolt on-bolt off” compatible with stock components. If limited modifications are required, vehicle must retain the ability to use Department of Defense stock components without other or additional modifications. At a minimum the vehicle must retain the mobility of a stock HMMWV with increased mobility desired. Also desire increased reliability and maintainability.
