DeCA is currently accepting appointments for presentations for meat items to review for the case lot sale promotion that is scheduled for CONUS store locations for the period of September 6-8,2002. The selections will be made based on the following criteria: price; selection and quantity of products available; and distribution capability of the source. The actual review of the presentations of meat products by interested vendors will take place on July 15-16,2002. Decisions on what products will be selected and offered during the case lot sale will be made on or before July 24, 2002. The selected items and desired quantities, by store location, will be communicated to the respective companies no later than July 31, 2002. It will then be the responsibility of the selected companies to coordinate the delivery schedule for affected store locations. Proposals from interested companies can be communicated to DeCA in one of two forms: (1) companies may schedule an appointment for a 30 minute presentation, to be conducted at Marketing Business Unit, 1st floor vendor rooms, Fort Lee, VA; or (2) they may submit an offer in writing. For an on-site presentation, each company will be given a maximum of 30 minutes to explain their proposal, of which 20 minutes will be reserved for the actual presentation, with the remaining 10 minutes reserved for any questions. For written proposals, the presentation should be no more than five pages in lengh, including product brochures. Regardless of the method of presentation (oral or written), your proposal must address the following criteria Price: Offered price should be a significant savings to the patrons. Provide supporting documentation that demonstrates the proposed savings. Product Selections & Quantities: Proposed items that would be of interest to commissary patrons, and the quantities to support the three DeCA CONUS Regions: Eastern, Midwest, and Western Pacific, is desired. If not, quantities should support more than one store. Distribution Capability: Explain how you plan to transport the product to the stores (miltary distributor, private truck fleet, or commercial line). In addition, all interested companies are asked to provide or consider the following: If using slides or visual media, provide one copy at the time of the presentation. If proposing more than one item, provide a price list. There will be no exceptions made regarding the amount of time provided for presentations in fairness to all participants.
