M -- Notification of Agency intent to extend contract DECA02-98-D-0004 for a period of three months to the incumbent

This synopsis is notification of Agency intent to extend contract DECA02-98-D-0004 for a period of three months starting 01 June 2003 and ending 31 August 2003, to the incumbent, Special Markets Inc, 1421 Diamond Springs Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. A competitive contract was originally awarded in November of 1997 for deli/bakery services at military commissaries located in five Clusters of the DeCA Midwest Region. The extension will be performed under the same terms and conditions as the existing contract. The contract type is a requirements contract with a fixed percentage of savings. The extension will provide uninterrupted services of the delicatessen and/or bakery resale operations at TX, OK, NM, WY, ND, SD, KS and CO military commissaries pending the award of the new competitive contract. This action is accomplished under the authority cited in 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.See Numbered Note(s) 22
