The Missile Defense Integration & Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever AFB, Colorado intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract modification to Orbital Sciences Corporation, Inc under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The purpose of the additional work is to perform the following requirements: 1) On-Orbit Operations. The contractor shall provide on-going Near Field Infra-Red Experiment (NFIRE) and Laser Communications Terminal (LCT) program management, mission planning, operations and limited anomaly investigation support to the NFIRE operations team. 2) Laser Communication Terminal (LCT) Experiments. The contractor shall continue to assist in meeting the objectives of the LCT Satellite-Ground links /Inter-Satellite links experiment plan. The objectives include, but are not limited to defining the edge parameters of a successful LCT contact and an extended "operations" test to prove the reliability of regular / periodic supports.
