MEDICAL DISPENSING EQUIP LEASE/MAINT

The US Army Medical Command Southern Region intends to award a sole source firm fixed price Equipment and Maintenance contract under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures, for Omnicell medication dispensing cabinets located in the Pharmacy Department at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH), Ft Campbell, KY. The suggested contractor is Omnicell, Inc, 590 E Middlefield Rd, Mountain View, CA 94043-4008. The Omnicell medication dispensing cabinets provides safety mechanisms that prevent nursing staff from selecting wrong medication for patients and provides an audit trail for medications withdrawal on a per patient basis. Omnicell allows timeliness and efficiency for onsite access for most typical daily inpatient medications needed. Omnicell also prevents and is used for accountability, inventory and drug diversion because of an electronic tracking mechanism to see who is removing the medications. Omnicell also has the capabilities of providing a mechanism of tracking numerous audits and run various reports to determine proper drug utilization and removals. This is not a request for proposal. However, companies that can provide an equal product must submit their technical capabilities to include technical specifications of their product, past performance information, price and delivery time. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representatives for consideration for future requirements
